The story
The Council of Ministers decided to create the museum in November 1927, and it began operating in 1930 inside the palace of Princess Fatma Ismail in Dokki, first under the name King Fuad I Agricultural Museum. It later grew into eight museums in one place, spread over more than 30 feddans of landscaped grounds, and is counted among the earliest and largest agricultural museums in the world. It closed for restoration in 2016, with local bodies and UNESCO taking part, and welcomed visitors again in 2025, starting with a free pilot opening in mid-August.
