The story
The Tombs of the Nobles at Amarna lie in Middle Egypt, within Minya Governorate, and are the burial places of some of the powerful courtiers of the city of Akhetaten, from the reign of Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten). They form two groups cut into the cliffs and bluffs on the east side of the dry bay of Akhetaten. There are about 25 major tombs, many decorated and bearing their owner's name. Each seems to reflect the personality and standing of its original owner at court.
