The story
The Temple of Hibis is the largest and best-preserved ancient Egyptian temple in Kharga Oasis, and one of very few surviving structures in Egypt from the Saite-Persian period (664-404 BCE). It lies just north of Kharga town (sources give about 1 to 2 km) and was devoted to a blend of two local forms of Amun: "Amun of Hibis" and "Amun-Ra of Karnak who dwells in Hibis". Some believe it was dedicated to Amun and Osiris, and its sanctuary shows hundreds of Egyptian deities.
