The story
Tomb KV17 belongs to Seti I, the second king of the Nineteenth Dynasty in the New Kingdom. It lies in the eastern valley of the Valley of the Kings at Luxor and counts among the largest and deepest tombs there, as well as among the most heavily decorated. The Italian explorer Giovanni Belzoni uncovered it on 16 October 1817, which is why it is also called Belzoni's tomb; some older sources call it the Tomb of Apis.
